Hello, I’m a product-focused software engineer working across requirements, systems design, implementation and delivery.

Much of my work begins before the code: understanding an unfamiliar domain, clarifying incomplete requirements, deciding where responsibilities should sit and creating technical foundations that other people can reliably build on.

I started programming in 1998, repairing IBM computers and writing small tools in LotusScript. My background in visual and performing arts later drew me towards the intersection of technology, design and interaction.

After working in São Paulo and Athens, I moved to London in 2011. Over the following years, I worked across publishing, financial services, travel, marketplaces and property technology for organisations including The Times, Royal Bank of Scotland, Hailo, Kalo, KPMG and Dow Jones.

Later, I joined earlier-stage product teams and worked across mobile applications, identity, data and event-driven cloud services. At Ameelio, I helped build and scale a secure communication service connecting incarcerated people with their families.

Recently, I worked with XP’s Design Ops team on Soma, its organisation-wide design system, leading frontend engineering for compositional components used across different product contexts and defining the shared-state model used for communication between components.

Today, I consult through YLD with a US product team, working across requirements, systems design, implementation and delivery.
